BWINDI THE PAVILLIONS
Bwindi – The Pavilions is a luxury residential complex overlooking Lake Mutanda in western Uganda, on the edge of the famous Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – home to the last mountain gorillas living in the wild. The project redefines hospitality in a region where tourism is growing rapidly but still lacks high-quality infrastructure.
Inspired by traditional African architecture, the residences are designed on circular plans, surrounded by terraces and crowned with recycled thatched roofs. Built in wood and integrated into the natural slope of the hillside, each villa opens to uninterrupted views of the lake and the chain of volcanoes on the horizon.
The masterplan embraces modularity and flexibility – every residence can be expanded with additional decks, saunas, jacuzzis, or outdoor gathering spaces. At the heart of the complex lies a three-level Clubhouse with pools, a restaurant, and social areas. Modern sustainable technologies – water recycling systems, smart home installations, and energy-saving solutions – ensure a balance between luxury, ecology, and cultural authenticity.
